Mk2 Cortina

Car Re-upholstery

This restoration required extensive seat repairs, including spring reinforcement and subtle custom touches. We added bolsters to the front seat to enhance driver support while cornering and installed a parcel shelf beneath the dashboard.

The dashboard itself was wrapped in a single piece of black leather—despite the complex internal corners, we managed to achieve a seamless finish without stitching darts. There was enough leather to extend the coverage to the front parcel shelf, ensuring a cohesive look with the dashboard.

To complete the interior, we installed custom black cut-pile carpet, carefully crafted to follow the tunnel and mat designs popular among classic British sports cars.

Seat Repairs

A stitch in time saves nine—but when repairs are delayed, foam deterioration happens fast.

For this restoration, we repaired the foam bolster, reinforcing it with a thin layer of polypropylene for added durability and driver comfort. Since motor company cloth is often difficult to source—or simply unavailable—we used a patch to avoid retrimming the entire vehicle. To complete the repair, we crafted a genuine leather rub panel and carefully stitched it into the seat cover, ensuring both longevity and a seamless finish.

Headlining Replacement

"This project was highly satisfying! The foam padding beneath had deteriorated into an unsightly, sagging mess, devaluing the asset. We wasted no time—stripping away the old lining and foam, scrubbing every inch of the fiberglass ceiling to remove stubborn remnants of adhesive and debris. With precision and care, we installed fresh 10mm backed foam, ensuring a smooth, seamless foundation for the crisp white marine vinyl. The transformation was rewarding! The newly restored headlining not only revitalized the boat’s interior but also closely matched the existing linings, creating a clean, uniform aesthetic throughout. The satisfaction of turning a negative   into something fresh and polished made every challenge along the way worthwhile!"
